The Divine of the LivVerse (#LVD) is the section of the LivVerse where deities from different cultures reside. Greek/Roman. Egyptian. Even Japanese. This is also the link that connects Cybron to the LivVerse. These particular characters can move throughout all four verses as well as time because they aren't constrained by time, as they are immortal. For the Greeks/Romans, Mt. Olympus is located over the Citadel Tower on the Citadel and has a special entrance via an elevator that is hidden by the mist. As with the underworld's entrance is through Chora's Den. For the Egyptian deities, the entrances to their respective domains are deep within the Great Pyramids in Egypt and so on and so forth.

Deities

DotsS

Gods are depicted in a variety of forms, but are also frequently expressed as having human form. Some faiths and traditions consider it blasphemous to imagine or depict the deity as having any concrete form. Deities are often thought to be immortal, and are commonly assumed to have personalities and to possess consciousness, intellects, desires, and emotions comparable but usually superior to those of humans. A male deity is a god, while a female deity is a goddess.

Historically, natural phenomena whose causes were not well understood, such as lightning and catastrophes such as earthquakes and floods, were attributed to deities. They were thought to be able to work supernatural miracles and to be the authorities and controllers of various aspects of human life (such as birth or an afterlife). Some deities were asserted to be the directors of time and fate itself, the givers of human law and morality, the ultimate judges of human worth and behavior, or designers of the Universe, instead of being a natural result of the laws of physics.

Greek & Roman

The Greek and Roman Gods are the descendants of the older Titans, their ancestors and chief enemies. There are currently twelve major gods, the Olympians, who rule over the universe, all of whom are under the rule of Zeus (or his Roman form Jupiter), god of the sky. There are many other minor gods who serve smaller but necessary purposes in the world. Despite their immense power, they are subject to divine laws, and, in theory, cannot break oaths sworn upon the River Styx. However, due to their immortal nature, breaking such oaths does not have severe consequences to them, more...

The Egyptian gods and goddesses are primeval forces that were once worshiped by the Ancient Egyptians. The gods are also created entities, like humans, but are more powerful. They serve as a bridge between the natural world and the human world. Over time, the Egyptians realized that the gods were not to be worshiped and although they still prayed to them and used their powers, magicians began to train to fight the gods when needed, more...

Norse, Viking or Scandinavian mythology comprises the indigenous pre-Christian religion, beliefs and legends of the Scandinavian peoples, including those who settled on Iceland, where most of the written sources for Norse mythology were assembled. Norse mythology is the best-preserved version of the older common Germanic paganism, which also includes the closely related Anglo-Saxon mythology. Germanic mythology, in its turn, developed from an earlier Indo-European mythology, more...

Trivia

MarieSQ
  • When asked by Daisy Birchall as to why Marie Hakim and Nathan Octavius' relationship was so significant, Marie explained that Greek and Egyptian gods coexist in the same world as all religious deities are connected to the Western Civilization (which is the Citadel currently), though Marie does note that the two pantheons are not allowed to meet due to conflicts between Ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. The nature of their disconnection stems from Anubis (Marie's Father), Dacrai Taischi (Makaryn and Nadira's father), and Hades (Tate's father) getting into a heated argument over a game of Poker. Because this started the dark ages of the Earth; Isis, Olivia Taischi, and Hera made a decree that the three men were to be separated indefinitely, which meant the division of the Pantheons.
  • Suzu Ootori mentions Chinese gods and dragons (as she can shape shift into a dragon at will), and Alison used to speak about the Cherokee myths and divine beings as her mother is Cherokee Indian. It's believed by Daisy that the gods just assumed the form that was needed at the time, and the gods that haunt Grissom now, in theory, could be all in the same.
  • Gods do not have DNA, as they are beings of magic and power.
